Song of the Day - Wednesday June 10th

Ok ya'll... so I used to do a song of the week when I was in college. Now I am doing a song of the day here on my blog. I probably won't post a song of the day on Saturday or Sunday. I listen to a very wide variety of music so chances are at some point there will be a song you like. I suggest you download them all. There is a great site here where most songs are 9 cents or 15 cents to download.

So todays song is...

"Six Ribbons" by Black Majesty
(Words and music by Jon English)

If I were a minstrel
I'd sing you six love songs to tell the whole world of the love that we share

If I were a merchant
I'd bring you six diamonds with six blood red roses for my love to wear

But I am a simple man a poor common farmer
So take my six ribbons to tie back your hair
Yellow and brown, blue as the sky, red as my blood, green as your eye.

If I were a nobleman
I'd bring you six palaces with six hundred servants for comforting care
But I am a simple man a poor common farmer
So take my six ribbons to tie back your hair

If I were a minstrel
I'd sing you six love songs to tell the whole world of the love that we share
so be not afraid, my love,
You're never alone, love while you wear my ribbons tie'n back your hair

Once I was a simple man a poor common farmer I gave you six ribbons to tie back your hair

Tooralee, tooralie
All I can share is only six ribbons to tie back your hair

Tooralee, tooralie
All I can share is only six ribbons to tie back your hair

Black Majesty is a power metal band from Melbourne, Australia. I love this song. It's a power ballad so it's nice and slow while still having some power metal chords behind it. The lead singer has a really great voice and the female backing vocals are good too.

And on a completely different note:
This morning I left for work around 6:20am and about half a block from my house I had to stop my car because there was a TURKEY in the middle of the road! Now I live in a city so I don't see wild turkey cross the street very often. It was just so weird. I wonder if there is some sort of superstition about a turkey crossing your path... and it was chasing a little bird... too funny!!
