Five Fave Friday!

Thank God it's Friday! Or TGIF as they say! It's been a super long week full of appointments and work. Here are some things that helped get me through the week:

1. Auntie Anne's Pretzels, my latest pregnancy craving. Right now I'm all about the almond pretzel with the cheese dip.

2. Jack Bauer and the new reincarnation of the show "24". I don't care if its a half season, a mini series, or a made for TV movie: if its "24" it will be amazing!

3. Conan on TBS. I usually have to DVR it because after the monologue I pass out from exhaustion. But I love this show.

4. Dole Frozen Sweet Dark Cherries. I put them in my lunch in the morning and by noon they are thawed out and delicious!

5. Grumpy Cat. I love this cat. I'm sure it's not even really grumpy. It's just a grumpy expression on its face. But it makes me smile.

Have a great weekend!! <3

What A Morning!!

Oh what a beautiful morning... not really! Today was my first non-stress test. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and my blood pressure has been high, not super high but high enough. At my regularly scheduled OB visit on Monday it was 156/92. Lovely. I swear its from coming straight to my appointments from work. Not that my job is strenuous at all. But the atmosphere and attitudes there are enough to give anyone high blood pressure!
In preparation for my non-stress test and fetal growth ultrasound this morning, I called the hospital yesterday to "pre-register." The woman on the phone was so nice and told me I was already registered and to just go right to the 5th floor - labor and delivery. So today I get here early and find the short procedure parking where the flyer told me to go. I finally found my way to the elevators and arrived at labor and delivery where I was then walked around a corner and down a hallway, through some doors and down a ramp to the non-stress test area. I had made it with time to spare. I told the woman at the desk who I was and she said since I had an ultrasound that day I had to go back down to the first floor and register! So much for pre-registering the day before! I sat in that waiting room for about 10 minutes feeling my blood boiling and my seat shaking from the woman next to be bouncing a toddler on her knee. I thought I was going to be sick.
I was called in to register and was handed my ultrasound order and asked to sign 3 forms. That took less than five minutes. Okay, done, now we are on the go! I go back to the main elevators, had to get off at 4th floor and walk down a few hallways to catch the other elevators to get to the 5th floor. At least I am getting in some exercise today. I go back to the nice woman in the non-stress area where I was then asked to sign two of the same 3 forms I had already signed. How does any of this make sense? She set me up in my little recliner and hooked me up to the monitors and offered me a drink. I opted for the orange juice. My blood pressure was a little high the first two times it was taken but by the end I was 137/82 which means nothing to me but apparently that is a good pressure. My little guy moved around the entire time so I spent the whole 20 minutes pressing the fetal movement button.
Then it was off to ultrasound! When I arrived there I signed in and took a seat. About 15 minutes later I was informed that there was something wrong with my order and that I would need to wait a little longer for the new order to be sent over. Finally I was taken back and got to see my little guy. I got to see his face which looks a little creepy and we reaffirmed that he is definitely a boy! So it was a busy morning and I was two hours late for work but I got to make up the time and I'm feeling a lot better. Hopefully my blood pressure stays down enough to get us to at least the 37 week mark. We will see!

My baby's face! Turned so you can see it upright.

And we definitely have a boy! Lol

Five Fave Fridays!!!

It's Friday, thank the LORD!!!
This week has been hellish. Waiting and waiting for information on certain things. But that has been settled. On to my five FAVORITE things today.

1. This is my 100th post on this blog!!! Yay! woohoo!

2. For some reason I woke up with this in my head. It has to be my absolute favorite SNL Digital Short.  Not only is the concept hilarious, but the costumes are awesome and Michael Bolton sound amazing! I can't watch this video without giggling. Enjoy!

3. Revenge!! I absolutely love this show... And if I had the cunning, the resources, and the skill of Emily Thorne, well half of Scranton would be served thier just desserts.

4. The Nutribullet!  This little blenderish wonder has turned my mother into a juicing fanatic and I have to say I love it. Every morning she makes these "green drinks" for my dad and I, which he calls his "fizzy lifting drinks" a la Willy Wonka.  But honestly this is a great investiment to get healthy. I don't like eating salad so now I can drink it and reap all of the benefits without the calories from a dressing!

5. Pregnancy!  Yes dear blog readers, if I have any, I am pregnant. 29 weeks and 4 days to be more specific. It wasn't planned and it was a very rocky beginning but God knows what he is doing I hope. After the first 4 months of nausea and not being able to keep ANYTHING down, I've come to rather enjoy being pregnant! It's the only time that everyone will ever rave and coompliment you on how good you look with a huge tummy, and I seem to be carrying a basketball. The best part is feeling this tiny human inside of me kicking and poking and getting cozy in my uterus.  Maybe that sounds like something out of "Alien" to you, but once you feel it you will know what I mean. So here is me at 29 weeks!

Happy Friday Everyone!!

I guess I am back for a while... sort of.

Firstly I need to apologize to a lot of people on my blog.
I used to have a lot of followers and I was involved in a few swaps and trades.
There were some that I didn't follow through with. I'm sorry. Life happened and kicked me in the butt. Big time.

I know I did a blog candy contest and I never sent the winner her package. I hope to get in contact with her and send her a HUGE box since I really don't have time for scrap booking at the moment.

Then there is someone else who sent me a cute Halloween Scrap Item and I owe her something in return. I did make something but I never sent it and now I have no idea where it is. But I want to make that up to her.

And Charity, if you are out there I will try to find you. I owe you some sci-fi movie ATC cards which I just found this past weekend! So I'm going to look for you, if you see this please comment.

That being said. I abandoned blogging and I abandoned a lot of things. I don't exactly know why or remember the progression since my last entry... I might try to write an update of the missing time when I get home and spend some quality time with the lap top tonight.

I hope my followers and fellow bloggers don't think I am a horrible person.

The Friday 56 - Obsidian Butterfly

* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions
on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of this blog.
Post a link along with your post back to Story Time with Tonya and Friends.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST

Today I am blogging from my bedroom. I don't have many books in here, they are all in the spare room. I had to look under my bed to see if there were any books I had scooted underneath and forgotten about. This was the one I found.

"Obsidian Butterfly" by Laurel K Hamilton.

"Because if you start thinking about the bad things, worrying about them, then it makes you slow, makes you afraid. Neither of us can afford that."

The copy that I am using is actually in the "Nightshade Tavern" double book that also includes "Narcissus in Chains" so my Friday 56 might not be the same sentence as in the single novel.

Happy Friday everyone!!

Hello and Happy Friday!!

Today the closest book to me is actually the one I am currently reading.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith

"His plan did not vary on seeing them."

A VERY BORING Friday 56 for such a fun book!!!

One of my favorite parts has been: (with the best line at the end):

"But why Mr. Darcy came so often to the parsonage, it was more difficult to understand. It could not be for society, as he frequently sat there ten minutes together without opening his lips; and when he did speak, it seemed the effect of necessity rather than of choice. He seldom appeared really animated, even at the sight of Mrs. Collins gnawing upon her own hand. What remained of Charlotte would liked to have believed this change the effect of love, and the object of that love her friend Eliza."

(and then there are a few more paragraphs... and then my favorite...):

"In her kind schemes for Elizabeth, she sometimes planned her marrying Colonel Fitzwilliam. He was beyond comparison the most pleasant man; he certainly admired her, and his situation in life was most eligible; but, to counterbalance these advantages, Mr. Darcy had a considerably larger head, and thus, more brains to feast upon."

HAHAHA!!!!! I am loving this book.
And I believe it's being made into a movie.
Here are some of the illustrations in the book. Too funny!

I am planning on reading Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters next!!!

Have a good weekend!!!
Thanks for reading!

Five Fave Friday!!!

Hello Everyone!
I haven't blogged my Friday Favorites in quite a long time. I'm trying to change that and update more frequently. I've been such a bad, bad blogger!

And here are my favorite things from this past week:

1. My cousin Jenny is getting married on July 10th and this is the dress that she chose for us bridesmaids to wear! I actually love it! I tried one on the other day and they are gorgeous!! It hides everything I need it to hide and completely passed the "sit-down" test. So pretty!
2. Skillet!!! They are a Christian Rock band. They are amazing. I am going to see them in concert on April 15th!!! I can't wait.

This is the cover of their newest CD.

And this is my favorite song my them. It's called "Awake and Alive."

3. Dove Chocolate Home Parties. My friend Sarah started doing chocolate parties. They are too fun! When I move into my new place I am going to have one. I bought a few things but my favorite is the Spiced Chai!!!! YUM!!!!

4. Dominos Pizza Online Tracker. This thing is so cool. You order your pizza online and then get to watch the progress of when it's being made to when the delivery person leaves the store! It's very cool!!

5. Bee M.D. Organic Honey Throat Drops. I've been sick for the past week and these babies are the only thing thats been keeping my throat from catching on fire like dry kindling!!

Those are my favorite things from this past week.
Thanks for reading. Have an awesome weekend!!

Happy Friday!
Today the CLOSEST book is right here on my coffee table:

"A Dirty Job" by Christopher Moore

Ok so page 56 starts with a really long sentence fragment so I will count that as the first sentence. So here it is, my Friday 56:

"The dogs arfed a frantic barking salvo at the avian intruders and Charlie put so much body English into wiggling the key in the lock that he felt an atrophied dancing muscle tear in his hip."

I really enjoyed reading this book. It's pretty funny and I enjoy Christopher Moore's writing style.

Thanks for reading!

Hey everyone! Sorry I am so late in announcing a winner. I wanted to actually write down everyone's names and pull from a container and record it all and upload a video...

But then my digital camera got smashed when I dropped my purse...

So I decided to use and I know that a lot of people have issues with Like, if you are the first commentor, you never come up or whatever. So here is what I did. I decided to triple the number of comments and use that number... since three is a lucky number.

So I have 33 comments that are entries and that makes my number 99.

The winning number was 72. So I started at the 1st comment and counted through them all looping back around each time and the winner is:

Thank you so much to everyone who entered!! I loved reading through your comments and I will be stopping by ALL of your blogs and most likely following them too within the next few days!!!
Congrats to Lynne! Please email me at with your full name and address!
Oh and also let me know what color scarf you want because that is the crocheted item!!
I am hoping to be a better blogger again very soon!!! I have a lot of catching up to do!!!
