What a day!

Its been 1 week since my sinus surgery. The surgery itself was an experience as far as hospital trips go. I slept over my parents' house the night before and was up at 5am to be there for 6. We didn't have to wait for a room or a bed or anything. They wanted to do blood work before the surgery so a woman came in to get it. She couldn't get a good vein in either arm so she ended up sticking the top of my hand. At least she used the small butterfly needle! But it wasn't a success. The needle wasn't in the vein all the way and only a few drops of blood went into the tube. So about 20 minutes later they send a lab tech up. He can't find veins in either arm so he used the top of my other hand. He was successful. And then they ended up putting the IV in that same hand also.

I saw the doc briefly before the surgery and said since we were doing the right side, could he also make the left side better as well. So he said sure. The anesthesiologist was very interesting. He kept saying over and over "Now think very carefully before you answer this question.." and "are you sure?" He was very serious and dramatic (and old!). The last thing I remember before passing out is being wheeled into the O.R. and sliding to the other table while my sinus doc was making fun of the anesthesiologist. It was funny. One second I was laughing and then the next I was waking up in the lowered light of the Post Op room with the worst sinus headache. I had some facial apparatus that rested under my nose and was secured by bands behind both of my ears. My eyes were watering and there was a nurse right by my feet. She asked how bad the pain was and I told her so she called the doc and got permission to give me some meds. It worked fast but didn't last long. I fell asleep again for a few minutes and then they gave me an ice pack for my face. The rest is a little bit of a blur. They wheeled me out to where my mom was in the hallway and took us back to the room where we started our day. Once there they changed my bandages and then I was in so much pain that I fell asleep with the ice pack over the right side of my face. I woke up maybe an hour later and my mom was watching t.v. I felt better but sore. I made her take a picture of me with my cell phone to make the obligatory facebook status post! Here it is:

Yes so very flattering! LOL Look at my eyes all loopy from the pain meds!
Anyway I don't remember what time it was when they finally let me go home.
I think it was after noon at least.

I felt really good the rest of that day other than the pain which was dulled immensely by the prescription for percocet I was given. My younger brother (who is in nursing school and works in the E.R.) came over to babysit me while mom went to the store to get me some ginger ale and sherbert and stuff like that.

My older brother came over with my niece to visit.
This was her reaction to the bandages on my face:

She is very intelligent for 2 years old and wanted to know everything.

I stayed with Mom and Dad until Sunday. Thursday I felt good, Friday was hard and Saturday I felt just awful. Mom had to go by herself to feed my kitties on Saturday because I just couldn't do it!

Monday I went back to work. My nose still hurt pretty bad but it was alright
This is me and Kaydence on Monday:

I look normal. The swelling was pretty much gone by then. I didn't get any bruises except for where that first nurse tried to get the blood work from.

Yesterday I had to go back to the doctor for a Post Op visit. That was interesting. They called me in the morning and said they could get me in for 1pm. I was just going to leave work and then go back but then we had some electricians in the office who were putting in new outlets. They were all over my workstation, blocking my computers, sawing into the ceiling, dust flying EVERYWHERE... so I couldn't get any work done. They kept asking me to move and it was nuts! So my boss said I could just take the half day. I was going to and then the electricians told me that they were done in my room.
Anyway the appointment... the doc said I was healing perfectly and he sprayed this menthol stuff into my nose. Normally (before surgery) this stuff would have just dripped right out the front of my nose, but this time and went right through and straight down my throat! Gross yeah I know but awesome because that means my sinuses are so open!! So then he stuck this little light and a metal sucker tube into my nose and right into my sinus cavities and sucked out all the scabs and anything else that might be in there. Well let me tell you, it hurt like hell!!! My eyes were watering. The doc said that men sometimes pass out from the procedure because of the amount of pressure on your face. It's crazy! So after that my nose hurt really bad. The appointment only took 20 minutes so I went to Mom's and hung out with her and Pat and Kaydence for almost an hour before going back to work. I had to take a perc last night after work because the pain was really bad.

Today's it's been good... itchy, but good.

Really great to read sinus surgery success stories. My mom is freaking out cuz my dad had a CT Scan and has been given two options:
sinus surgery or balloon sinuplasty
Mom is scared to death of hospitals and doesn't even want to talk about it.
Still researching and talking to docs about what's best for dad. Wish us luck.

What an ordeal, but YAY for open sinuses!

Betsy, I had several cousins who also had different sinus surgeries and every one of them had great results. I feel so much better already and I was told it would take 3 weeks for the full effect! I am sure your dad will be fine but I am wishing him (and the rest of you) good luck with everything!

Good day, sun shines!
There have were times of hardship when I didn't know about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person.
I have never imagined that there weren't any need in big initial investment.
Nowadays, I feel good, I begin take up real money.
It gets down to select a proper partner who utilizes your money in a right way - that is incorporate it in real deals, and shares the profit with me.

You may get interested, if there are such firms? I'm obliged to answer the truth, YES, there are. Please be informed of one of them:

Hello everyone!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a thing, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For several years , I earn money with the help of these programs.
I don't have problems with money now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I make 2G daily, and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I managed to catch a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Visit my blog to get additional info.
